Armed suspect in drug-dealing raid shot dead by Shanghai police

SHANGHAI, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai police shot dead a suspected drug
dealer who was armed and resisting arrest Friday, a spokesman for the city's
public security bureau said.

The police raided a house in Songjiang District at about 2 p.m. and found
five people engaged in suspected drug trading. The suspect was shot because he
continued to resist arrest after the police fired a warning shot. Instead, he
pointed a self-made rifle at the police.

The police arrested the four other suspects. They also seized 2kg of
crystal methamphetamine ("ice" drug), two guns and dozens of choppers.

Shanghai police are investigating the case.
