Almost 1,000 people fighting forest fire in NE China

HARBIN, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Almost 1,000 people in northeast China's
Heilongjiang Province are fighting a forest fire, according to the local
government.


The fire was reported at 1 p.m. in Yinanhe Forest Farm in northern
Heilongjiang. More than 910 people, including 680 fire-fighters and 230 forest
police, were battling the fire as of 7:30 p.m., according to provincial
government.

Another 1,150 people are rushing to the scene to help.

The burnt area and cause of the fire are not immediately available.
