Six workers injured in south China scaffold collapse: police

GUANGZHOU, Jan. 3 (Chinese media) -- Six workers were injured after a scaffold collapsed at a construction site in south China's Shenzhen City late on Saturday morning, local police said.



The collapse occurred at about 11 a.m. when workers were decorating a wall on Nanshui Street in the Shekou district, according to Shenzhen border police.

Six workers were rescued from the debris and sent to a nearby hospital. None were in life-threatening danger, according to hospital staff.

The cause of the collapse is being investigated.
