TAIPEI, Jan. 22 (Chinese media) -- Taiwan authorities are hoping to hold another round of talks with the mainland on cracking down on crimes, regular cross-Straits flights, mainland investment in Taiwan and financial cooperation after the Lunar New Year.
Talks on financial cooperation would cover banking, securities and futures, insurance and related industries, Liu Te-shun, spokesman of Taiwan's "mainland affairs council" told a press conference here Thursday.
Liu said he hoped the two sides to start talks on the above issues after the traditional Lunar New Year, which falls on January 26 this year.
The talks would be conducted through the mainland's Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) and the island's Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF).
