Two Taiwan tourists injured in road accident on Chinese mainland

KUNMING, Jan. 27 (Chinese media) -- Two middle-aged female tourists from Taiwan were injured, one seriously, in a road accident when traveling in Yunnan province on the Chinese mainland Tuesday morning, said the provincial Taiwan affairs office on Tuesday evening.

The accident happened at about 10 a.m. on a slope of Kunshi Highway, when the bus with 17 Taiwan tourists aboard was hit by a speeding car and sideslipped, said Zhou Yueming, deputy head of Yunnan Provincial Taiwan Affairs Office.

The two injured were in a family and they're out of danger. The family of eight suspended their trip after the accident, he said.

An elderly man who was earlier reported to be injured suffered no injuries after medical observation, he said.
