"City Gallery" highlights local artists in Shenzhen

BEIJING, Dec. 30. -- A city-wide art project named "City Gallery" was launched Thursday, featuring fine art exhibitions by local artists at 15 open locations in Shenzhen.

"City Gallery" is one of the major venues for Creative December, which is a monthlong cultural event held annually in Shenzhen. Exhibitions consist of a range of art genres including ethnic, modern, traditional Chinese watercolors and comics.

Paintings by students from Shenzhen Polytechnic are being displayed at Metro stations including Shenzhen Grand Theater, Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, and Children's Palace.

In Bao'an District, ArtSectionF518 is holding a modern art exhibition called "Experimental Elements."

For traditional Chinese art, a fine-brush flower and bird painting exhibition by local artists is being held at the Donghu Art Museum in Luohu District. The Citic City Plaza is hosting a Chinese watercolor exhibition.

For comics fans, there is a comics art show at the Shenzhen Children's Park, 12 Tongle Road, Luohu District.

An ethic Hakka art show is being presented at Shenzhen University.

Members of the Shenzhen Art Association have their watercolors on display at an exhibition called "Lijiang Impressions," inspired by a trip to Lijiang in Yunnan Province.

Art salons are also being held in the ArtSectionF518, Bao'an District, and the Shenzhen Garden Expo Park.

"City Gallery" will close tomorrow.
