Chinese shares open flat on Christmas Day

BEIJING, Dec. 25 (Chinese media) -- Chinese shares opened flat on Thursday, with

the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares,

gaining 0.1 percent, or 1.92 points, to 1,865.72 at the opening.

The smaller Shenzhen index was up 0.37 percent, or 25.49 points, to open at

6,871.09 points.
