Death toll in pileup rises to four in SW China

NANNING, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Four people were killed in a traffic collision involving four vehicles in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the local government said Monday.

The latest victim died early Monday morning in a hospital due to serious injuries, according to the publicity department of Jingxi County, Baise City.

The accident took place at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in Xinjia Town when a truck collided with two buses and another truck, killing three at the scene.

Nineteen others were injured and are being treated at local hospitals.

Police have detained the truck driver and are investigating the accident.
