Girl fight at college ends with 6 stabbed in NW China

XI'AN, Dec. 10 (Chinese media) -- Six college students were

stabbed by a classmate during a fight at Weinan Technical College on Monday in

northwest China's Shaanxi Province, local police said Wednesday.

The suspect, surnamed Cheng, was blamed by

her classmate, surnamed Tian, for knocking on her dormitory door too loudly

last Wednesday. The two women got into a verbal argument.

Weinan City police said the fight escalated when Tian

made telephone threats to Cheng on Friday.

Then on Monday, Tian allegedly led a group of

girls to beat up Cheng in her dormroom. Police said Cheng took out a knife during the

fight and stabbed six girls, including Tian.

Five are in stable condition. One girl, surnamed Liu,

lost a lot of blood and is in serious condition at Central Hospital of Weinan

City.

Cheng was also wounded by the knife in the fight. She

was arrested on her way to the hospital. Police say she is ok.

No word yet on any charges.
