Chinese FM to attend SCO FM meeting in Moscow

BEIJING, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi will attend
foreign ministers' meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on May 15
in Moscow, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said here Thursday.

The foreign ministers of SCO's six member states will meet to prepare for
the SCO summit, which is to be held in Yekaterinburg, Russia, in mid June, and
exchange views on deepening pragmatic cooperation in all fields among the
members and on important regional and international issues, said Ma at a regular
press conference.

Founded in Shanghai in 2001, SCO comprises six member countries: China,
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

China opposes honorary Paris
citizenship for Dalai Lama: Foreign Ministry

BEIJING, May 7 (Xinhua) -- China demanded Thursday that
the city of Paris stop interfering in China's internal affairs.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu made the comment in
response to a question on the city's decision to give honorary citizenship to

China rejects Japan's nuclear
accusation

BEIJING, May 7 (Xinhua) -- China on Thursday rejected
Japan's accusation on China's nuclear activities.

"We do not know what exact purpose the Japanese leader
intended to achieve by referring to China's nuclear issue under the current
circumstances," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu told a regular

Brazilian president to visit
China

BEIJING, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio
Lulada Silva is to visit China from May 18 to 20 at the invitation of Chinese
President Hu Jintao, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu announced Thursday.

Lula's current tour will be the second state visit to
China since he took office in 2003. It coincides with the 35th anniversary of
the establishment of China-Brazil diplomatic ties.Full story
